FISH REPORT FOR
KENTUCKY & BARKLEY LAKES
MAY 1, 2008 -
The largemouth are still hitting best. Most are being caught on small
crankbaits fished along the gravel shorelines and first buckbrush. Some
larger ones have been caught a little farther out from shore and the very
shallow cover. Crappie are still being caught on 4' to 6' of water with both
minnows and jigs fished under bobbers. Some good catches are being reported
but they seems to be few of them. The tailwaters are back to normal and blue
cats and stripes should hit good again. Bluegill and redear are being caught
on red worms in 3' to 4' of water but they are still scattered. Channel cats
are hitting well on leeches and shrimp in 20' to 22'. The lakes are 6" below
summer pool and the water temp is 66 degrees.
